Feeding a large dog here

Feed age-appropriate food matched to a large build, and change brands gradually rather than overnight. In warm and humid conditions water matters as much as food — moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips, and appetite often dips before anything else shows.

The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most puppies eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.

Space and the outdoors with a Greyhound Puppy

Homes around Kendrapara usually come with their own ground, which takes the pressure off a formal exercise plan. A breed this size needs that outdoor time to be dependable, not occasional.

Living with a Greyhound Puppy in Kendrapara

With independent houses common, there is usually room for a large-sized breed to exercise at home. Owners in eastern India tend to find this dog a gentle, quiet, fast companion, and the settling-in is usually easier than the first week suggests.

Is the Greyhound Puppy right for Kendrapara?

The Greyhound Puppy does well in Kendrapara, with one caveat worth knowing up front: moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips. For a gentle, quiet, fast, large-sized breed that mostly changes when things happen rather than what happens. Stay current on tick and flea prevention, which thrive in warm, damp conditions.

Kendrapara is hottest in April, averaging 39°C in the afternoon. A Greyhound needs real protection from that because a large body sheds heat slowly: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.

Winters are mild, with January nights around 14°C, so cold is not a concern.

The rainy season runs from June to October, and August is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Greyhound puppy, the easiest months to arrive are November to February: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
