Feeding a medium dog here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a medium frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because the sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important, keep water available and watch intake through the long monsoon.

The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the puppy approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Grooming and coat care in Puttasing

The aim is dry, clean skin — appearance comes second. Puttasing being humid coastal, the sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important, so a regular brush prevents most of what would otherwise become a vet visit. Keep bedding dry and the resting area well-ventilated, especially during the monsoon.

Space and the outdoors with a Border Collie Puppy

Homes around Puttasing usually come with their own ground, which takes the pressure off a formal exercise plan. A medium-sized breed manages this well when the outdoor time is genuinely regular.

Larger plots and open surroundings make this a comfortable setting for an active Border Collie Puppy. Owners across the eastern region tend to find this dog a family friendly, good with kids companion, and the settling-in is usually easier than the first week suggests.

Puttasing is hottest in April, averaging 40°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to May. A Border Collie needs real protection from that because its double coat holds heat close to the body: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.

Winters are mild, with January nights around 13°C, so cold is not a concern.

The rainy season runs from June to October, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry the coat right down to the skin after it gets wet, or it can develop skin infections.

For a new Border Collie puppy, the easiest months to arrive are November to January: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
