The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the puppy approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Grooming and coat care in Serango

The aim is dry, clean skin — appearance comes second. Serango being coastal tropical, the air stays humid through much of the year, so coat and skin care need attention, so a regular brush prevents most of what would otherwise become a vet visit. Dry the coat and ears thoroughly after baths or rain to prevent fungal and skin issues.

Health and vet care in Serango

Preventive care in Serango is largely a matter of anticipating the long monsoon. Parasite control and skin checks earn their keep here more than they would elsewhere. The vaccination record travels with the puppy; staying on schedule is the single best habit there is. Brush regularly — humidity makes mats and tangles form faster in longer coats.

Living with a Pointer Puppy in Serango

Homes here often have more space and independent plots, which gives a Pointer Puppy room to move and settle in comfortably. Owners in the east tend to find this dog a loyal, loving, confident companion, and the settling-in is usually easier than the first week suggests.

Space and the outdoors with a Pointer Puppy

Homes around Serango usually come with their own ground, which takes the pressure off a formal exercise plan. A breed this size needs that outdoor time to be dependable, not occasional.

Summer here peaks in April at about 37°C. That is manageable for a Pointer, but watch it closely because a large body sheds heat slowly: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 11°C. A Pointer has a short, thin coat, so a light sweater helps on the coldest nights.

The rainy season runs from June to October, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry inside the ears after baths and rain, since droopy ears trap moisture.

For a new Pointer puppy, the easiest months to arrive are February, March and November: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
