Grooming and coat care in Alwar

Let the weather set the schedule, not the calendar. With summers are long and intense, so heat management is the single biggest priority, a Kanni Puppy's coat and skin want checking more often through the dry summer months. On a larger coat, matting and trapped moisture are what to catch early. Keep unlimited fresh water available and add a cooling mat or shaded resting spot.

Is the Kanni Puppy right for Alwar?

The Kanni Puppy does well in Alwar, with one caveat worth knowing up front: summers are long and intense, so heat management is the single biggest priority. For a loyal, shy, alert, large-sized breed that mostly changes when things happen rather than what happens. Keep unlimited fresh water available and add a cooling mat or shaded resting spot.

Health and vet care in Alwar

Local climate decides which problems actually turn up. Given summers are long and intense, so heat management is the single biggest priority, the recurring ones here are skin and coat trouble, parasites and hydration — not the whole textbook. Keep vaccination and deworming on schedule, and book the check before the dry summer months rather than during it. Watch for signs of overheating — heavy panting, drooling or lethargy — during peak afternoons.

Alwar is hottest in May, averaging 43°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to June. A Kanni needs real protection from that because a large body sheds heat slowly: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 6°C. A Kanni has a short, thin coat, so a light sweater helps on the coldest nights.

The rainy season runs from July to August, and August is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Kanni puppy, the easiest months to arrive are March, September, October and November: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
