Is the Kanni Puppy right for Pushkar?

The Kanni Puppy does well in Pushkar, with one caveat worth knowing up front: the dry heat means hydration and shade matter more than almost anything else. For a loyal, shy, alert, large-sized breed that mostly changes when things happen rather than what happens. Walk early in the morning or after sunset when the ground is cool, never on hot pavement.

Exercise and routine through the dry summer months in Pushkar

Build the day around local conditions rather than a figure from a breed chart. In Pushkar, the dry heat means hydration and shade matter more than almost anything else, which makes timing the variable that matters. Two shorter outings work better here for a breed this size. A light summer trim (for double-coated breeds, never shave to the skin) helps comfort.

Feeding a large dog here

Feed age-appropriate food matched to a large build, and change brands gradually rather than overnight. In warm and arid conditions water matters as much as food — the dry heat means hydration and shade matter more than almost anything else, and appetite often dips before anything else shows.

Grooming and coat care in Pushkar

The aim is dry, clean skin — appearance comes second. Pushkar being warm and arid, the dry heat means hydration and shade matter more than almost anything else, so a regular brush prevents most of what would otherwise become a vet visit. Walk early in the morning or after sunset when the ground is cool, never on hot pavement.

Pushkar is hottest in May, averaging 41°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from May to June. A Kanni needs real protection from that because a large body sheds heat slowly: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 6°C. A Kanni has a short, thin coat, so a light sweater helps on the coldest nights.

There is no long rainy season; what rain there is falls mostly in August.

For a new Kanni puppy, the easiest months to arrive are March, September, October and November: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
