Exercise and routine through the cold winter season in Gyalshing

Build the day around local conditions rather than a figure from a breed chart. In Gyalshing, the cooler climate suits thick-coated breeds but needs winter planning for others, which makes timing the variable that matters. Several brief outings suit this size better than one long one. Check paws for cracking and ice between toes during the coldest months.

Grooming and coat care in Gyalshing

The aim is dry, clean skin — appearance comes second. Gyalshing being cold mountain, the cooler climate suits thick-coated breeds but needs winter planning for others, so a regular brush prevents most of what would otherwise become a vet visit. Keep up daily exercise — the cool weather is ideal for longer, more active walks.

Preventive care in Gyalshing is largely a matter of anticipating the cold winter season. Parasite control and skin checks earn their keep here more than they would elsewhere. Space and the outdoors with a Persian

Homes around Gyalshing usually come with their own ground, which takes the pressure off a formal exercise plan. A medium-sized breed manages this well when the outdoor time is genuinely regular.

The city sits at about 1,532 m above sea level, so it runs cooler than the plains around it.

Summers here are mild, peaking at about 28°C in June, so heat is rarely the problem for a Persian that it is on the plains.

Winter nights drop to about 5°C in January. A Persian copes well with cold, but a puppy still needs a warm, draught-free bed for its first winter.

The rainy season runs from June to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry the coat right down to the skin after it gets wet, or it can develop skin infections.

For a new Persian puppy, the easiest months to arrive are February, March, April, May, October, November and December: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
