Is the Greyhound Puppy right for Devaruppula?

Devaruppula is mild tropical plateau — the plateau climate is relatively moderate, which suits a wide range of breeds — and the Greyhound Puppy is a large-sized, gentle, quiet, fast breed. Devaruppula is hottest in May, averaging 41°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to May. A Greyhound needs real protection from that because a large body sheds heat slowly: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.

Winters are mild, with December nights around 15°C, so cold is not a concern.

The rainy season runs from July to August, and August is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Greyhound puppy, the easiest months to arrive are January, February, June, October, November and December: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
