Grooming and coat care in Bageshwar

The aim is dry, clean skin — appearance comes second. Bageshwar being cold mountain, the cooler climate suits thick-coated breeds but needs winter planning for others, so a regular brush prevents most of what would otherwise become a vet visit. Keep up daily exercise — the cool weather is ideal for longer, more active walks.

Is the Pointer Puppy right for Bageshwar?

The Pointer Puppy does well in Bageshwar, with one caveat worth knowing up front: the cooler climate suits thick-coated breeds but needs winter planning for others. For a loyal, loving, confident, large-sized breed that mostly changes when things happen rather than what happens. Keep up daily exercise — the cool weather is ideal for longer, more active walks.

The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the puppy approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Health and vet care in Bageshwar

Preventive care in Bageshwar is largely a matter of anticipating the cold winter season. Parasite control and skin checks earn their keep here more than they would elsewhere. The vaccination record travels with the puppy; staying on schedule is the single best habit there is. Keep up daily exercise — the cool weather is ideal for longer, more active walks.

Feeding a large dog here

Feed age-appropriate food matched to a large build, and change brands gradually rather than overnight. In cold mountain conditions water matters as much as food — the cooler climate suits thick-coated breeds but needs winter planning for others, and appetite often dips before anything else shows.

Summer here peaks in June at about 34°C. That is manageable for a Pointer, but watch it closely because a large body sheds heat slowly: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 7°C. A Pointer has a short, thin coat, so a light sweater helps on the coldest nights.

The rainy season runs from July to August, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry inside the ears after baths and rain, since droopy ears trap moisture.

For a new Pointer puppy, the easiest months to arrive are April, May, June, October and November: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
