Grooming and coat care in Someshwar

Let the weather set the schedule, not the calendar. With winters get genuinely cold, so warmth and joint care take priority, a Pointer Puppy's coat and skin want checking more often through the cold winter season. On a larger coat, matting and trapped moisture are what to catch early. Provide a warm, draught-free sleeping spot and a coat for short-haired breeds in winter.

Feeding a large dog here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a large frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because winters get genuinely cold, so warmth and joint care take priority, keep water available and watch intake through the cold winter season.

Space and the outdoors with a Pointer Puppy

Homes around Someshwar usually come with their own ground, which takes the pressure off a formal exercise plan. A breed this size needs that outdoor time to be dependable, not occasional.

The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the puppy approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Winters get genuinely cold, so warmth and joint care take priority, so split the activity across two cooler outings rather than one long session. The city sits at about 1,391 m above sea level, so it runs cooler than the plains around it.

Summers here are mild, peaking at about 31°C in May, so heat is rarely the problem for a Pointer that it is on the plains.

Winter nights fall to about 3°C in January. A Pointer feels that: bedding raised off the floor, a sweater or warm cover at night, and a room kept out of the draught.

The rainy season runs from June to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry inside the ears after baths and rain, since droopy ears trap moisture.

For a new Pointer puppy, the easiest months to arrive are April, May and October: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
