Space and the outdoors with a Kanni Puppy

Homes around Doiwala usually come with their own ground, which takes the pressure off a formal exercise plan. A breed this size needs that outdoor time to be dependable, not occasional.

Is the Kanni Puppy right for Doiwala?

The Kanni Puppy does well in Doiwala, with one caveat worth knowing up front: crisp hill weather is comfortable for most dogs but harsh for short-coated ones in winter. For a loyal, shy, alert, large-sized breed that mostly changes when things happen rather than what happens. Provide a warm, draught-free sleeping spot and a coat for short-haired breeds in winter.

Living with a Kanni Puppy in Doiwala

Larger plots and open surroundings make this a comfortable setting for an active Kanni Puppy. Owners throughout the northern belt tend to find this dog a loyal, shy, alert companion, and the settling-in is usually easier than the first week suggests.

Feeding a large dog here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a large frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because crisp hill weather is comfortable for most dogs but harsh for short-coated ones in winter, keep water available and watch intake through the cold winter season.

Doiwala is hottest in May, averaging 40°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from May to June. A Kanni needs real protection from that because a large body sheds heat slowly: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 8°C. A Kanni has a short, thin coat, so a light sweater helps on the coldest nights.

The rainy season runs from June to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Kanni puppy, the easiest months to arrive are March, October and November: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
