The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most birds eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.

Exercise and routine through the long monsoon in Kondapi

The long monsoon is the stretch that needs planning. Moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips, so keep sessions short and frequent. Consistency does more for a Hahn's Macaw than intensity ever will. Stay current on tick and flea prevention, which thrive in warm, damp conditions.

Feeding a small bird here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a small frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips, keep water available and watch intake through the long monsoon.

Living with a Hahn's Macaw in Kondapi

Larger plots and open surroundings make this a comfortable setting for an active Hahn's Macaw. With more room to work with, the routine can stay informal, though it should still be regular.

Grooming and coat care in Kondapi

The aim is dry, clean skin — appearance comes second. Kondapi being coastal tropical, moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips, so a regular brush prevents most of what would otherwise become a vet visit. Keep bedding dry and the resting area well-ventilated, especially during the monsoon.
