The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most birds eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.

Is the Dusky Lorikeet right for Arwal?

Start with the weather, not the breed standard. Here the wide seasonal range means both cooling in summer and warmth in winter matter, and a small-sized bird feels that more than an owner expects. The Dusky Lorikeet adapts well to Arwal on a sensible routine — steady hydration and shade rather than reduced activity. Keep deworming and vaccination on schedule — seasonal changes can stress the immune system.

Grooming and coat care in Arwal

Let the weather set the schedule, not the calendar. With the wide seasonal range means both cooling in summer and warmth in winter matter, a Dusky Lorikeet's coat and skin want checking more often through the peak summer and winter swings. On a smaller coat, irritation shows up well before matting does. Keep deworming and vaccination on schedule — seasonal changes can stress the immune system.

Health and vet care in Arwal

Preventive care in Arwal is largely a matter of anticipating the peak summer and winter swings. Parasite control and skin checks earn their keep here more than they would elsewhere. The vaccination record travels with the bird; staying on schedule is the single best habit there is. Watch for seasonal coat shedding as temperatures change and brush accordingly.

Arwal is hottest in May, averaging 43°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to June. A Dusky Lorikeet needs real protection from that: a cage well away from windows and direct sun, a shallow bath dish, and a room that stays under about 32°C.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 9°C. A light sweater helps a small Dusky Lorikeet on the coldest nights.

The rainy season runs from June to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Keep the cage out of damp corners and change the paper daily.

For a new Dusky Lorikeet bird, the easiest months to arrive are February, October and November: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
