Living with a Chattering Lorikeet in Tharthari

The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most birds eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.

Space and the outdoors with a Chattering Lorikeet

Homes around Tharthari usually come with their own ground, which takes the pressure off a formal exercise plan. A small-sized breed manages this well when the outdoor time is genuinely regular.

Is the Chattering Lorikeet right for Tharthari?

Start with the weather, not the breed standard. Here the climate swings from hot summers to cool winters, so care changes with the season, and a small-sized bird feels that more than an owner expects. The Chattering Lorikeet adapts well to Tharthari on a sensible routine — steady hydration and shade rather than reduced activity. Keep deworming and vaccination on schedule — seasonal changes can stress the immune system.

Tharthari is hottest in May, averaging 42°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to June. A Chattering Lorikeet needs real protection from that: a cage well away from windows and direct sun, a shallow bath dish, and a room that stays under about 32°C.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 8°C. A light sweater helps a small Chattering Lorikeet on the coldest nights.

The rainy season runs from June to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Keep the cage out of damp corners and change the paper daily.

For a new Chattering Lorikeet bird, the easiest months to arrive are March, October and November: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
