The long monsoon is the stretch that needs planning. The air stays humid through much of the year, so coat and skin care need attention, so keep sessions short and frequent. Consistency does more for a Rainbow Lorikeet than intensity ever will. Dry the coat and ears thoroughly after baths or rain to prevent fungal and skin issues.

Homes here often have more space and independent plots, which gives a Rainbow Lorikeet room to move and settle in comfortably. With more room to work with, the routine can stay informal, though it should still be regular.

Grooming and coat care in Kozhikode

Let the weather set the schedule, not the calendar. With the air stays humid through much of the year, so coat and skin care need attention, a Rainbow Lorikeet's coat and skin want checking more often through the long monsoon. On a smaller coat, irritation shows up well before matting does. Stay current on tick and flea prevention, which thrive in warm, damp conditions.

The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most birds eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.
