Is the Blue Fronted Amazon right for Chen?

Chen is lush, wet tropical — the green, rainy climate is mild but demands dry shelter and grooming discipline — and the Blue Fronted Amazon is a medium-sized, family friendly, good with kids breed. Those two facts decide most of what daily life looks like here. A breed this size copes well, provided shade and water are always within reach. Keep a dry, raised resting area — prolonged damp leads to skin and paw problems.

Grooming and coat care in Chen

Let the weather set the schedule, not the calendar. With the green, rainy climate is mild but demands dry shelter and grooming discipline, a Blue Fronted Amazon's coat and skin want checking more often through the extended rainy season. On a smaller coat, irritation shows up well before matting does. Keep a dry, raised resting area — prolonged damp leads to skin and paw problems.

The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the bird approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.
