Exercise and routine through the extended rainy season in Phor

The extended rainy season is the stretch that needs planning. The green, rainy climate is mild but demands dry shelter and grooming discipline, so keep sessions short and frequent. Consistency does more for a Blue Fronted Amazon than intensity ever will. Towel-dry after every walk in the rains and check between the toes for irritation.

Is the Blue Fronted Amazon right for Phor?

Phor is monsoon-heavy — the green, rainy climate is mild but demands dry shelter and grooming discipline — and the Blue Fronted Amazon is a medium-sized, family friendly, good with kids breed. Those two facts decide most of what daily life looks like here. A breed this size copes well, provided shade and water are always within reach. Maintain strict tick, flea and worm control, which peak in the wet season.

The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the bird approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Feeding a medium bird here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a medium frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because the green, rainy climate is mild but demands dry shelter and grooming discipline, keep water available and watch intake through the extended rainy season.
