Living with a Rainbow Lorikeet in Choudwar

With independent houses common, there is usually room for a small-sized breed to exercise at home. With more room to work with, the routine can stay informal, though it should still be regular.

Grooming and coat care in Choudwar

Let the weather set the schedule, not the calendar. With moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips, a Rainbow Lorikeet's coat and skin want checking more often through the long monsoon. On a smaller coat, irritation shows up well before matting does. Stay current on tick and flea prevention, which thrive in warm, damp conditions.

Feeding a small bird here

Feed age-appropriate food matched to a small build, and change brands gradually rather than overnight. In warm and humid conditions water matters as much as food — moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips, and appetite often dips before anything else shows.

Exercise and routine through the long monsoon in Choudwar

Build the day around local conditions rather than a figure from a breed chart. In Choudwar, moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips, which makes timing the variable that matters. Several brief outings suit this size better than one long one. Keep bedding dry and the resting area well-ventilated, especially during the monsoon.

Space and the outdoors with a Rainbow Lorikeet

Space is rarely the constraint here; the routine is what needs attention. For a family friendly, good with kids bird the fit is usually good either way.

Choudwar is hottest in April, averaging 40°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to May. A Rainbow Lorikeet needs real protection from that: a cage well away from windows and direct sun, a shallow bath dish, and a room that stays under about 32°C.

Winters are mild, with January nights around 13°C, so cold is not a concern.

The rainy season runs from June to October, and July is usually the wettest month. Keep the cage out of damp corners and change the paper daily.

For a new Rainbow Lorikeet bird, the easiest months to arrive are November to February: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
