Exercise and routine through the long monsoon in Dharmasala

The long monsoon is the stretch that needs planning. The sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important, so keep sessions short and frequent. Consistency does more for a Rainbow Lorikeet than intensity ever will. Keep bedding dry and the resting area well-ventilated, especially during the monsoon.

Grooming and coat care in Dharmasala

Let the weather set the schedule, not the calendar. With the sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important, a Rainbow Lorikeet's coat and skin want checking more often through the long monsoon. On a smaller coat, irritation shows up well before matting does. Brush regularly — humidity makes mats and tangles form faster in longer coats.

The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most birds eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.

Space and the outdoors with a Rainbow Lorikeet

Homes around Dharmasala usually come with their own ground, which takes the pressure off a formal exercise plan. A small-sized breed manages this well when the outdoor time is genuinely regular.

Feeding a small bird here

Feed age-appropriate food matched to a small build, and change brands gradually rather than overnight. In coastal tropical conditions water matters as much as food — the sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important, and appetite often dips before anything else shows.
