Exercise and routine through the long monsoon in Phiringia

Build the day around local conditions rather than a figure from a breed chart. Stay current on tick and flea prevention, which thrive in warm, damp conditions.

Space and the outdoors with a Dusky Lorikeet

Feeding a small bird here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a small frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because the sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important, keep water available and watch intake through the long monsoon.

Grooming and coat care in Phiringia

The aim is dry, clean skin — appearance comes second. Phiringia being coastal tropical, the sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important, so a regular brush prevents most of what would otherwise become a vet visit. Brush regularly — humidity makes mats and tangles form faster in longer coats.
