Pathankot is hottest in June, averaging 40°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from May to June. A Yellow Naped Amazon needs real protection from that: a cage well away from windows and direct sun, a shallow bath dish, and a room that stays under about 32°C.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 9°C. A light sweater helps a medium Yellow Naped Amazon on the coldest nights.

The rainy season runs from July to August, and July is usually the wettest month. Keep the cage out of damp corners and change the paper daily.

For a new Yellow Naped Amazon bird, the easiest months to arrive are March, April, September, October and November: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
