The dry summer months is the stretch that needs planning. Summers are long and intense, so heat management is the single biggest priority, so keep sessions short and frequent. Sumerpur is hottest in May, averaging 42°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to June. A Dusky Lorikeet needs real protection from that: a cage well away from windows and direct sun, a shallow bath dish, and a room that stays under about 32°C.
