Keep vaccinations, deworming and annual vet checks on schedule year-round.

Exercise and routine through the brief pre-monsoon heat in Tekmal

The brief pre-monsoon heat is the stretch that needs planning. The balanced weather is one of the easier indian climates for pet ownership, so keep sessions short and frequent. The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most birds eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.

Space and the outdoors with a Yellow Naped Amazon

Homes around Tekmal usually come with their own ground, which takes the pressure off a formal exercise plan. A medium-sized breed manages this well when the outdoor time is genuinely regular.

Tekmal is hottest in May, averaging 40°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to May. A Yellow Naped Amazon needs real protection from that: a cage well away from windows and direct sun, a shallow bath dish, and a room that stays under about 32°C.

The rainy season runs from July to September, and August is usually the wettest month. Keep the cage out of damp corners and change the paper daily.

For a new Yellow Naped Amazon bird, the easiest months to arrive are January, February, June, October, November and December: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
