Space and the outdoors with a Siberian Kitten

Space is rarely the constraint here; the routine is what needs attention. For a affectionate, playful, strong cat the fit is usually good either way.

Living with a Siberian Kitten in Barkhetri

Homes here often have more space and independent plots, which gives a Siberian Kitten room to move and settle in comfortably. With more room to work with, the routine can stay informal, though it should still be regular.

The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most kittens eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.

Is the Siberian Kitten right for Barkhetri?

Barkhetri is monsoon-heavy — the green, rainy climate is mild but demands dry shelter and grooming discipline — and the Siberian Kitten is a large-sized, affectionate, playful, strong breed. Those two facts decide most of what daily life looks like here. A breed this size needs its hard exercise moved to the cooler hours. Maintain strict tick, flea and worm control, which peak in the wet season.

Exercise and routine through the extended rainy season in Barkhetri

The extended rainy season is the stretch that needs planning. The green, rainy climate is mild but demands dry shelter and grooming discipline, so split the activity across two cooler outings rather than one long session. Consistency does more for a Siberian Kitten than intensity ever will. Ensure good airflow indoors to keep the coat and bedding from staying damp.

Summer here peaks in June at about 33°C. That is manageable for a Siberian, but watch it closely because its double coat holds heat close to the body: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 10°C.

The rainy season runs from April to September, and June is usually the wettest month. Dry the coat right down to the skin after it gets wet, or it can develop skin infections.

For a new Siberian kitten, the easiest months to arrive are November to March: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
