Health and vet care in Kottayam

Local climate decides which problems actually turn up. Given moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips, the recurring ones here are skin and coat trouble, parasites and hydration — not the whole textbook. Keep vaccination and deworming on schedule, and book the check before the long monsoon rather than during it. Keep bedding dry and the resting area well-ventilated, especially during the monsoon.

Exercise and routine through the long monsoon in Kottayam

Build the day around local conditions rather than a figure from a breed chart. In Kottayam, moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips, which makes timing the variable that matters. Two shorter outings work better here for a breed this size. Keep bedding dry and the resting area well-ventilated, especially during the monsoon.

The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most puppies eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.

Living with a Pointer Puppy in Kottayam

Homes here often have more space and independent plots, which gives a Pointer Puppy room to move and settle in comfortably. With more room to work with, the routine can stay informal, though it should still be regular.

Feeding a large dog here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a large frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips, keep water available and watch intake through the long monsoon.

Summers here are mild, peaking at about 31°C in March, so heat is rarely the problem for a Pointer that it is on the plains.

Winters stay warm, with even January nights around 25°C, so there is no cold season to plan for.

The rainy season runs from May to November, and June is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry inside the ears after baths and rain, since droopy ears trap moisture.

For a new Pointer puppy, the easiest months to arrive are December to March: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
