Living with a Kanni Puppy in Tlabung

With independent houses common, there is usually room for a large-sized breed to exercise at home. Owners in the region's hills tend to find this dog a loyal, shy, alert companion, and the settling-in is usually easier than the first week suggests.

Space and the outdoors with a Kanni Puppy

Homes around Tlabung usually come with their own ground, which takes the pressure off a formal exercise plan. A breed this size needs that outdoor time to be dependable, not occasional.

Grooming and coat care in Tlabung

The aim is dry, clean skin — appearance comes second. Tlabung being high-rainfall tropical, near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention, so a regular brush prevents most of what would otherwise become a vet visit. Ensure good airflow indoors to keep the coat and bedding from staying damp.

Is the Kanni Puppy right for Tlabung?

The Kanni Puppy does well in Tlabung, with one caveat worth knowing up front: near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention. For a loyal, shy, alert, large-sized breed that mostly changes when things happen rather than what happens. Ensure good airflow indoors to keep the coat and bedding from staying damp.

The vaccination record travels with the puppy; staying on schedule is the single best habit there is. Towel-dry after every walk in the rains and check between the toes for irritation.

Summer here peaks in April at about 34°C. That is manageable for a Kanni, but watch it closely because a large body sheds heat slowly: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 12°C. A Kanni has a short, thin coat, so a light sweater helps on the coldest nights.

The rainy season runs from May to October, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Kanni puppy, the easiest months to arrive are February, March, November and December: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
