Is the Kanni Puppy right for Sakraba?

The Kanni Puppy does well in Sakraba, with one caveat worth knowing up front: near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention. For a loyal, shy, alert, large-sized breed that mostly changes when things happen rather than what happens. Keep a dry, raised resting area — prolonged damp leads to skin and paw problems.

Health and vet care in Sakraba

Local climate decides which problems actually turn up. Given near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention, the recurring ones here are skin and coat trouble, parasites and hydration — not the whole textbook. Keep vaccination and deworming on schedule, and book the check before the extended rainy season rather than during it. Ensure good airflow indoors to keep the coat and bedding from staying damp.

Grooming and coat care in Sakraba

The aim is dry, clean skin — appearance comes second. Sakraba being monsoon-heavy, near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention, so a regular brush prevents most of what would otherwise become a vet visit. Keep a dry, raised resting area — prolonged damp leads to skin and paw problems.

Feeding a large dog here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a large frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention, keep water available and watch intake through the extended rainy season.

Space and the outdoors with a Kanni Puppy

The city sits at about 1,761 m above sea level, so it runs cooler than the plains around it.

Summers here are mild, peaking at about 25°C in June, so heat is rarely the problem for a Kanni that it is on the plains.

Winter nights fall to about 2°C in January. A Kanni feels that: bedding raised off the floor, a sweater or warm cover at night, and a room kept out of the draught.

The rainy season runs from May to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Kanni puppy, the easiest months to arrive are October: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
