Exercise and routine through the long monsoon in Puttasing

Build the day around local conditions rather than a figure from a breed chart. In Puttasing, the air stays humid through much of the year, so coat and skin care need attention, which makes timing the variable that matters. Two shorter outings work better here for a breed this size. Brush regularly — humidity makes mats and tangles form faster in longer coats.

The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the puppy approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Space and the outdoors with a Newfoundland Puppy

Homes around Puttasing usually come with their own ground, which takes the pressure off a formal exercise plan. A breed this size needs that outdoor time to be dependable, not occasional.

Is the Newfoundland Puppy right for Puttasing?

The Newfoundland Puppy does well in Puttasing, with one caveat worth knowing up front: the air stays humid through much of the year, so coat and skin care need attention. For a gentle, patient, calm, giant-sized breed that mostly changes when things happen rather than what happens. Dry the coat and ears thoroughly after baths or rain to prevent fungal and skin issues.

Health and vet care in Puttasing

Preventive care in Puttasing is largely a matter of anticipating the long monsoon. Parasite control and skin checks earn their keep here more than they would elsewhere. The vaccination record travels with the puppy; staying on schedule is the single best habit there is. Brush regularly — humidity makes mats and tangles form faster in longer coats.

Puttasing is hottest in April, averaging 40°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to May. A Newfoundland needs real protection from that because a giant body sheds heat slowly: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.

Winters are mild, with January nights around 13°C, so cold is not a concern.

The rainy season runs from June to October, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Newfoundland puppy, the easiest months to arrive are November to February: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
