Let the weather set the schedule, not the calendar. With the air stays humid through much of the year, so coat and skin care need attention, a Kanni Puppy's coat and skin want checking more often through the long monsoon. On a larger coat, matting and trapped moisture are what to catch early. Keep bedding dry and the resting area well-ventilated, especially during the monsoon.

The city sits at about 2,127 m above sea level, so it runs cooler than the plains around it.

Summers here are mild, peaking at about 22°C in May, so heat is rarely the problem for a Kanni that it is on the plains.

Winter nights fall to about 0°C in January. A Kanni feels that: bedding raised off the floor, a sweater or warm cover at night, and a room kept out of the draught.

The rainy season runs from June to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

No month here is easy on every count for a Kanni, so plan the first two weeks around a cool, dry room rather than the calendar.
