Exercise and routine through the extended rainy season in Tening

The extended rainy season is the stretch that needs planning. Near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention, so split the activity across two cooler outings rather than one long session. Consistency does more for a Siberian Kitten than intensity ever will. Keep a dry, raised resting area — prolonged damp leads to skin and paw problems.

Feeding a large cat here

Feed age-appropriate food matched to a large build, and change brands gradually rather than overnight. In high-rainfall tropical conditions water matters as much as food — near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention, and appetite often dips before anything else shows.

Is the Siberian Kitten right for Tening?

Tening is high-rainfall tropical — near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention — and the Siberian Kitten is a large-sized, affectionate, playful, strong breed. Those two facts decide most of what daily life looks like here. A breed this size needs its hard exercise moved to the cooler hours. Ensure good airflow indoors to keep the coat and bedding from staying damp.

Living with a Siberian Kitten in Tening

With independent houses common, there is usually room for a large-sized breed to exercise at home. With more room to work with, the routine can stay informal, though it should still be regular.

The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the kitten approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

The city sits at about 919 m above sea level, so it runs cooler than the plains around it.

Summers here are mild, peaking at about 29°C in May, so heat is rarely the problem for a Siberian that it is on the plains.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 7°C.

The rainy season runs from May to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Dry the coat right down to the skin after it gets wet, or it can develop skin infections.

For a new Siberian kitten, the easiest months to arrive are October to March: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
